     I am pleased to report that we are in our eighth straight year of a fast paced market with record sales that have kept all our contractors and associate members extremely busy. Everyone in construction has experienced boom and bust but this boom seems never to end. Why? Maybe it is because we have a great relationship with our two unions, The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and the General Contractors and the Builders that we perform the work for. We all realize that our market is very fragile and it must be treated with respect and we must work very diligently to keep it that way.

    Our association offers free of charge Health and Safety Training, Computer Estimating, Foreman Upgrade Training Programs and a WSIB Safety Group. All of these programs are helping our contractors to run their businesses more competitively and effectively, which means more profitably. Profit is not a dirty word. We work hard and are deserving of a fair return on our investment.

    Our new facility is 56,000 square feet of which 40,000 square feet is for training our future workforce in Drywall Application, Drywall Finishing and (EIFS) Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, Spray Fireproofing, and Asbestos and Mold Abatement.

    I am proud to be the President of our Association which has been one of the leading associations in the country and is well positioned to continue and improve on that fine record.
